Christmas cards

Have they sent you greeting cards? In this country they are known as NENGAJO, congratulations on cards are a classic among the Japanese Christmas cards to family and frieds to congratulate them on the holidays, Christmas and New Year's.

The big difference with the Christmas cards that are sent in other countries is that the Japanese postal service saves them to distribute them on Junuary 1st, all at the same time. On this day, a little time is dedicated to carefully opening each greeting and reading the text it contains.

Each Japanese person receives between 15 and different cards from his closest relatives, friends and work colleagues. Each year the congratulations are different, since it is common for them to be decorated with the zodiac animal corresponding to the year that has just begun.
